Security Rating 4 is classified as high commercial risk and medium government risk. SR4 optimum weight and strength combination the twin skin steel lath is re-enforced by aluminium sub structure highly resistant to cutting.

Our highest rated security shutter, SR4 security shutters provide a high security weight and strength combination through the twin skin steel lath, re-enforced by an aluminium substructure which is highly resistant to cutting.

SR4 security shutters are tested to withstand 20 minutes of attack, including 10 minutes with drills and hand tools. They are also tested and provide resistance to tools in Category A, B & C (as specified for SR3) plus D (below). The tools of this category is for experienced attempts at forced entry.

Attack time:

Tested to withstand 20 minutes of attack, including 10 minutes with drills and hand tools. The maximum test duration is 30 minutes.

Tools category A, B, C PLUS D:

“A-tool” lock puller, battery, bolt cutters, drill bits, felling/fire axe , general purpose saw/hole saw, grinder, hooligan bar, jigsaw, “K-tool” lock remover, plate shears, sledgehammer.

Steel wedges, Tube 75mm diameter x 500mm long.

Lock/hardware standard:

BS EN 1303 class 4.

Fixing:

Reinforced brickwork/blockwork, reinforced concrete or structural steelwork.

Technical specification

Motor

Depending on door size the motor drive is constructed using either Safedrive direct drive or via chain drive and reduction gearing supported via a safety brake. Very large sizes may also have internal counterbalance springs to reduce operating loads and minimise the drive requirements

ENGINEERING

Size

Doors are available from 1.2 metre wide to 9 metres wide and up to 9 metres high. All doors are made to measure to specific requirements. For a high security shutter with extreme wind rating we recommend our unique Typhoon security shutter.

Curtain

Roller shutter door electrically operated utilising a steel twin skin door curtain of twin interlocking roller shutter section with internal strengthening to resist cutting. The construction of the door curtain is 60Kg’s per square meter and it runs within reinforced side guides of fabricated steel.

Locking

Manually operated slip bolts on the bottom rail or pin locks on the guide, manually interlocked to the control panel to prevent accidental operation.
Electrically operated by press button when the door is closed
Fully automated.
Optional Monitoring and signalling of lock status.

Bottom Latch

The door curtain is finished at floor level with a structural bottom beam fabricated from steel and aluminium sections and optionally finished by rubber seal. Available up to 9m without need for locking at the centre of the rail.

Operators

The door can be press button operated or automatically operated. Various levels of safety can be incorporated which are obligatory if automated operation is required, including safe leading edge and or photocells movement sensors Radar, radio and so on. Controls should be mounted at least 1m from the door structure, unless additional features are added

Fixing

Structural opening substrate must be suitably reinforced brickwork/concrete/steelwork as detailed in the standard LPS1175 Issue 7. It is assumed that the substrate onto which the product is fitted provides a resistance to attack at least equivalent to that afforded by the product itself.
