New external roller doors for EfW site in Scotland
Baldovie EfW CHP facility is a new energy-from-waste site using around 110,000 tonnes of residual waste per year from Dundee and Angus to generate electricity.
The challenge
Due to the nature of the build and technical challenges from the onset, Hart worked direct with the contractor and the consultants in the design phase to provide a solution to suit each challenge faced such as corrosion, odours, noise and infestation
Project / doors required
- 7 insulated roller shutter
- 1 high speed door - Speedor Storm
Project challenges
Odour & Noise
Concern over emissions, threat of odour abatement or noise order
Dust & Moisture
Dust and dirt containment, mechanical damage from dust
Advanced Specification
Technical knowledge and experience of waste sites
The solution
Insulation is a key feature of an energy saving environment. Insulated roller shutters have a thermal value of minimum 0.69w/m.sq.k and 18db to minimise operational noise. The Speedor Storm is an extremely robust door with wind class 5 up to 8m. Moisture-controlled electrics protect from varying temperatures within a building, and mechanical components are protected from dust and dirt controlling the escaping dirt, odours and noise.
